7 powerful daily habits for entrepreneur success
With the New Year right around the corner, let’s chat about powerful daily habits for entrepreneur success that you can start embodying today!
I grew up going to Disney every year. My grandpa was a huge Disney fan and it was his gift to us to have us stay with him and my grandma in Florida each summer and we would go to all the Disney parks.
So, it’s no shock that I grew up believing in magic and miracles. Like if you wish upon a star…Ta DA, your fairy godmother would come and your wish would be right at your doorstep.
Turns out…That’s not how life works.
Your dreams don’t magically appear at the flick of a wand or with a magic potion.
They happen with a combination of thoughts, beliefs and actions.
Sure, there’s a little “magic” that goes into it, thanks to the Universe, but achieving your goals and dreams comes down to you.
It’s easy to believe that the people you see on TV or on social media achieved overnight success. After all, you aren’t seeing the behind the scenes.
Even Walt Disney himself went through countless failures and struggles and set-backs before Mickey Mouse came on the scene.
What we don’t see behind the scenes are the internal shifts, self-doubt turning to self-confidence, the daily habits and commitments to his dreams that got him to hit his big dreams.
This goes for all successful entrepreneurs. There is growth that happens, an intentional openness for growth and learning.
You are always subject to ways of learning – connecting and networking with other people, from your own experiences, from reading books or listening to podcasts or videos. Life is always trying to help you grow.
You also learn and grow by taking action, setting goals to take those actions, moving your body and building strength and resilience, exploring your own mind and expanding your emotional intelligence. It all expands who you are and what you are capable of.
Successful business owners know that the daily, healthy habits that embody these elements are invaluable to what they are capable of achieving.
It’s not just about the actions, it’s everything else you commit to that fuels and aligns the actions you take.
Most successful entrepreneurs have daily routines or habits that they know strengthen their mind, set them up for success, build their confidence and help them lead their day no matter the circumstances.
One thing to remember: Growing your business isn’t separate to your own growth and potential. Your personal development is invaluable to your professional development. They are intertwined.
It’s not just about strategy and plans and actions, it has to be about the inner growth as well. Your business is you and you are your business.
YOU are the leader of your business.
Successful entrepreneurs know this. They know they have to be in the best mindset, work on their resilience, their confidence, their courage, and their openness in order for their business to succeed.
As we step into a new year, with limitless possibilities and opportunities, it’s time to focus on 5 powerful habits for success.
It’s time to see past the actions and set the intention and commitment to your growth and potential over the next 12 months.
Your success is determined by the foundation you create for your goals to manifest.
Your foundation is how you set yourself up for success, the habits you commit to each day.
In this article, I am going to share 7 powerful habits for success. These are daily habits of successful entrepreneurs.
These habits will boost your confidence and shift your mindset. As you review these habits, start to think about how you can incorporate these into your 2025 goals and daily routines.
Before we jump in, be sure to download The Daily Habit Tracker for Successful Entrepreneurs Workbook so that you can start implementing these new habits and track your progress!
*Just a little side note about habits – they take time to take root and feel natural. It will take conscious effort each day to do them and to do them even if you don’t feel like you want to. Even when they feel hard. It could take months to embody these habits, why it’s so important to track your progress, celebrate wins, journal about your progress, and recommit each and everyday when you wake up that these are what your future self does each day in order to succeed.
7 powerful daily habits for entrepreneur success
1. Morning Mindset Routine.
There are 3 confidence building journal prompts I like to ask myself each morning. One of those questions is: what actions, beliefs, and thoughts would my future self lead with today and what habits would she commit to today?
Knowing the answer to that question will set you up for success. That first hour or two of your day will set the tone for your whole day. When set-up with the right vibe, it will allow you to show up more confidently and with intention.
This is how successful and effective entrepreneurs lead themselves to greater success. They don’t focus on the outside world first. They focus on themselves and their mindset. They focus on their physical and mental health, their own goals and dreams first.
They know that establishing a growth mindset will expand what they experience in this life.
A lot of people wake up living groundhog day over and over again, experiencing life the same everyday. Where they don’t get closer to their goals.
I like to say – not all actions, thoughts, and beliefs are created equal.
There are no good habits or bad habits. There are just habits that aligned to the life you want to create or habits that won’t
We all know the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. If you wake up each morning and just go through life on autopilot with the same habits and limiting beliefs, you will experience the same life over and over again.
Those actions and beliefs are getting what you already have,
But different habits, actions, beliefs, and thoughts, that align to your destination, will start to shift what you experience in your life, opening you up to new opportunities and possibilities.
This is where your morning mindset routine comes in. Your daily routine when you first wake up is where you set the stage for the day.
This morning routine may be journaling, using your vision board to visualize the future version of you, meditation to check in with your own inner guide and peace, saying powerful affirmation, or even doing something like EFT.
I like to think of this morning routine as a devotional to YOU.
It doesn’t have to be complicated. It just has to be a few minutes to welcome in the new day. Allow yourself to honor that day and intentionally let it be a stepping stone for where you want to be in the future.

2. Goal-Setting with Focused Action Steps
The second habit to embrace this new year is setting clear SMART, clear goals and mapping out the action steps that will get you there.
I am such a fan of creating a roadmap by starting with where you desire to be and planning backwards.
Here are some cool things about goal setting and planning:
- It makes lofty goals and dreams that may feel daunting, feel ease-ful and doable.
- It cuts down the overwhelm on the number of action items. When you can break it down into mini-steps and small tasks per day, you will see it doesn’t take as much as you thought and can be as easy as a few action items per day.
- It takes the second guessing out on what you need to do next. One of the big reasons people don’t reach their goals is because they have a to-do list of actions that become disconnected to their overall goals and dreams. So they take action, but only after spending time trying to figure out what action item they need to take next.
- You stay connected to who you are BECOMING and what you are CREATING, instead of focusing on or prioritizing what is convenient or easy right now. Your actions will feel like they are taking you some place.
Here is how to create a roadmap to your big 2025 goals and dreams.
- Start with being clear on your main long-term goals and WHY they are so important to you.
- Next, take each goal and set a deadline on when you’d like to achieve it.
- Then, work backwards and figure out what mini-milestones you need to achieve to get there.
- Finally, turn those milestones into actionable steps per quarter, month, week, and day.
My free BECOMING Quarterly Journal and Planner can walk you through this process really easily.
Yes, this takes time to do ahead of time, BUT once you have the plan in place, all you have to do is take action!
Make it a daily practice each morning after your morning routine to create your priorities for the day based around the actions you need to take towards your goals.
You also want to create a Business Plan for your business. I have a great simple Aligned Business Planner to help you get started. This will help you keep on track with your business goals. It’s a snapshot of what you are focusing on in your business each quarter.
Successful Entrepreneurs don’t take their eye off the prize. They stay committed even when they don’t YET see the results. They already mapped it out and see how it can all manifest with patience and commitment.
3. Intentional Learning
There is no better feeling than taking time for you, investing in yourself and the life you desire to lead.
In life, you can’t get out of growing. If you don’t intentionally set out to grow, the Universe has a way of making things happen so you broaden your horizons, see different perspectives, and learn.
Successful entrepreneurs KNOW that leaning into their desire to create a life and business they love requires a time investment into learning.
We learn so much from others. Every human has a perspective, story, experience to share that will help us on our own journey. And, we have great mediums to learn from those individuals. Podcasts, Youtube videos, books, or a course.
We can easily get lost in the daily to-dos and the actions items on our list, but if we want to build our confidence, stay motivated, be inspired, and ignite our momentum, intentional, continuous learning is a game changer.
Constant learning ensures you’re evolving with the industry and improving and learning new skills. This is where we build our confidence in our own knowledge and learn new knowledge that we can teach others.
Your brain doesn’t need hours to learn or be inspired, or grow. Just 15-30 minutes per day can make a huge difference. It can be a chapter of a book, a short podcast episode, a video on a topic you want to learn about.
You can listen to a podcast or audio book in the car on the way to work or while working out, or watch a video or read a book after meditating and journaling.
Some of my favorite books include:
Atomic Habits by James Clear
You are a Badass by Jen Sincero
My favorite podcasts:
The Fearless Female Entrepreneur (My podcast)
4. Networking and Relationship-Building
We are human, and humans thrive when they are part of communities, when they meet others and connect on common interests. And, as an entrepreneur, mastering the art of networking and relationship building is invaluable to the growth and sustainability of your own business.
BUT, it also is priceless when it comes to expanding your life and business opportunities and possibilities. The more people you connect with the more new ideas, new opportunities, new perspectives open up for you.
Networking expands your current limitations and gives you a new landscape to play in. The more people you meet, the more people you meet. Meaning when you connect with one person, eventually you start to meet more people in their network, you get referrals, you start socializing more, being introduced to new circles.
This is where some powerful collaborations come from – being a guest on someone’s podcast, hosting a masterclass in someone’s membership, etc.
My dad owned a very successful construction business for over 40 years. He never had a website, social media, email, advertising. In fact he used our home phone as his business phone. My sister and mom used to take messages for him. He never needed any of that. Everything was word of mouth, connections, networking.
Here’s your new habit: set the intention to connect to ONE new person per week. It could be in a facebook group, local networking event, Chamber of Commerce, MeetUp. You can do something as fun as host a virtual coffee chat and invite fellow entrepreneurs to join you so you all can get to know one another.
What will you choose as a method to connect with other like-minded entrepreneurs?
5. Time-Blocking for Productivity
Ok, I need to admit that time-blocking was a challenge for me. I’m not sure why I found comfort in winging my days. I think it was a fake comfort. You know like a way to procrastinate without it looking like procrastinating.
Recently I started time-blocking simply using my Google Calendar and WOW! It is such a powerful tool for productivity. It has completely changed my time management
I remember hearing of these powerful CEOs who’s calendars are planned in like 5-10 minute increments. Now, for me, that’s extreme, BUT even hour increments keeps me focused.
For some of us, it can be hard to focus on a task for a long period of time.
Time-blocking helps tell your mind that you only have to focus for XX minutes. If you want to be a success in business, accomplishing your action steps each day is what will expedite your results.
Basically time blocking is using your calendar to schedule in everything. And when I say everything that even means your reading, your exercise, your fun time, your creativity time, walks, hobbies. Map out your day. Plan your day with intention.
When you can see everything laid out:
1. You realize you have more time than you realize.
2. You’ll see where you are wasting your time (hello doom scrolling social media for 2 hours!)
3. How much time it REALLY takes you to accomplish your tasks.
Time Blocking also helps with energy leaks and priorities – those tasks that you really don’t have to do that you continue to think about. I SHOULD do the dishes. I SHOULD clean out my inbox.
Instead, you’ll map out what is truly important to you – the things that bring you joy, that you want to be doing, that are leading you to the life you want to live.
Then you will add in the most important tasks for your business that day.
For business map out the deep work, the creative work, the admin work. You can choose certain days for certain tasks, or certain hours of the day.
For example:
7-8am – coffee and journaling
8-9am – workout
9-10am get dressed and eat breakfast
10-1pm – client calls
1-2pm Lunch
2-4pm – draft podcast episode for next week
4-5pm admin work – emails, respond to DMs, check facebook group
5-6pm – dinner with family
6-7pm – time-block day for tomorrow
7-8pm – bath and meditate
8-10pm – time with family
As you can see it is mapping out your whole day including your family time, your success habits, your business activities. It is helping you build that life of freedom you have been craving!
6. Regular Reflection and Realignment
This habit is powerful with staying on track with your goals, and one we all don’t do often enough, BUT if you would like to adopt the habits of successful entrepreneurs, this is one to add to your routine.
Reflect on your progress and realign your goals with where you are. This will help with staying motivated, on target, and focused as well as help prevent burnout.
New habits take TIME to feel natural and to stick with. You have to shed your old identity (the version of you that DIDN”T do these things) so you can become the new version of you that DOES these things as part of who you are.
Goals and dreams also take time. Again, there are no overnight successes. There is just progress over time, so checking in and reflecting allows you to celebrate how far you are coming by taking those small daily actions you mapped out in your goal setting, while also adjusting where you may have changed your goals, reached your goals, or realized you weren’t as consistent or committed as you intended to be.
Here are some weekly journal prompts to use:
- How do I feel about what I accomplished this week?
- What actions did I take that I enjoyed and made me feel accomplished, confident, joyful and abundant?
- What do I need to shift and change? What habits do I need to recommit to? What actions did I not complete that I need to revisit next week? What fears, doubts, limiting beliefs and obstacles held me back?

7. Prioritizing Health and Well-Being
I hear it from clients all the time how they feel like they are working all the time and don’t have time for themselves. Here’s something to remember: you need self-care. YOU are your business. If you are burned out, and mentally exhausted, your business is going to be exhausting for you and burned out. A healthy work-life balance is a non-negotiable.
Something most of us also forget – we are what we eat. Meaning the foods you eat and the things you drink will either fuel you with the mental clarity and energy you need to be productive, OR it will make you feel sluggish, tired, foggy brained, and cranky.
The same goes for exercise. A sedentary life will leave you feeling less confident, more drained, have less energy. Where prioritizing regular exercise increases your energy level (a object in motion stays in motion), ignites your confidence in yourself, and helps with mental and physical stress,
Most successful people know they need to FUEL their body with nutrition and movement. Health is the FOUNDATION of a thriving, sustainable business.
Here’s something else to keep in mind – any type of activity or break away from working actually helps you solve problems easier, allows for creativity to flow, and gives you a moment to recenter and remember what is important, so any type of self-care and movement will actually help develop you and your business further.
This should be a non-negotiable habit. Your business depends on your health and well-being.
And it doesn’t have to take extra time. Make simple meals that include more veggies and protein, plus drink plenty of water each day. A simple 30 minute cardio or strength training, working a few days a week, a 30 minute walk around your neighborhood, a quick yoga or pilates class will give you exactly what you need and is easy to block into your day!
These habits highlighted here are the most important habits of successful entrepreneurs. There are countless habits that you can adopt and you get to choose the ones that are right for you.
Habits aren’t about changing who you are. They are a commitment to who you desire to be, so they get to be unique to you and your vision.
It’s about the intention you set each day and how you lead yourself. Your path to a successful and thriving entrepreneur is rooted in your daily habits
